  • New York Harbor, part of the Port of New York and New Jersey, is at the mouth of the Hudson River where it empties into New York Bay. It is one of the largest natural harbors in the world.

    New York City can be seen as a powerful house of maritime influence. The harbors and ports that exist allow people, things, etc. to be sent around the world. Since water surounds the great part of the City, the harbors and oceans play a great part in waterways. The waterways allow people to be transported to other parts of New York City such as Long Island, Staten Island, and even New Jersey. Waterway transportation has played a long history in the City of New York. As a main financial district, New York City allows people to enjoy a vast diverse of goods. Climate is mostly rainfall which provides the city with the necessary water.
